John Coxon Memorial Scholarship

John Coxon was the founding president of the Halifax Dunbrack Soccer Club. His family has generously created the Annual John Coxon Memorial Scholarship to honour his many contributions to the club. The scholarship is a $500 cash award that will be presented to one male and one female player of the Halifax Dunbrack Soccer Club who exhibit the qualities that John brought to the club, such as dedication through volunteering, commitment to the team, and passion for education. The deadline to apply for the 2023 John Coxon Memorial Scholarship is August 27, 2023 at 5pm AST.

Congratulations to Eduardo Rojas and Georgia Gavas, the 2023 winners of the 2nd Annual John Coxon Scholarship! Eduardo plans to pursue a degree in Applied Computer Science at Dalhousie University, and Georgia plans to pursue a degree in Health Sciences at University of King’s College. Both players have been dedicated leaders at the club, and will no doubt go on to do great things in the future! Congratulations!
